Italy’s anti-drug education initiative has exceeded one million drug-prevention booklets distributed in recent weeks. The initiative forms part of the Truth About Drugs campaign, which aims to provide factual education about commonly abused substances and their impact on health and society.
Approximately five hundred volunteers are participating in the outreach effort, distributing materials in schools, businesses and urban centres. The campaign focuses on helping young people make informed decisions, providing resources designed to explain the dangers of drugs in a understandable way.
The prevention effort is part of wider social programmes supported by the Church of Scientology, inspired by the work of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
